The tracklist on this album is insane. I didn’t know Maroon 5 had that much pull in the music industry to have a feature from Stevie Nicks and the late Juice WRLD. They have done songs with Kendrick Lamar, Future and Cardi B, but seeing Nipsey Hussle on the “Memories (Remix)” just doesn’t seem right to me. You would think that this album would have some interesting new directions to make a diverse sounding album. (Editor's Note: Troy, why would anyone think that? LMAO). Nope, they just played the same song 14 times. I feel like all you need to do is listen to 1 or 2 songs on this project and you get the gist of it. This is just a super radio friendly album that takes no risks in changing their sound whatsoever. Even one biggest song on this album, “Memories” sounds like every song they have made before.
"Beautiful Mistakes" is super generic to the band’s sound, it’s trying to be an emotional song that is more of a softer cut, but then Meg Thee Stallion comes in with bars with a super hard delivery and the vibe of the song is thrown off. Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s a super weird pairing to have Juice WRLD song on a Maroon 5 album. Adam Levine was singing about a girl and how they “keep goin’ back and forth,” and then Juice comes on the song with “She throw the pass to the Devil and I intercept, yeah / Have you ever had a make out session with death? Yeah.” That verse seems a little heavy for a Maroon 5 song right? This was a horrible project that comes off as super lazy.
